The Los Angeles Chargers are overhauling their receiving corps following a 26-14 opening-week defeat against the Arizona Cardinals. During the third quarter of that contest, Ladd McConkey exited with a rib problem and could not return.
While head coach Jim Harbaugh and team medical staff assess McConkey on a day-to-day timeline ahead of their upcoming game with the Las Vegas Raiders, the franchise has made several roster adjustments.
To address their depleted depth, the Chargers worked out and added two-time Super Bowl winner Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad. In corresponding moves, rookie wideout KeAndre Lambert-Smith was shifted to injured reserve because of a hamstring issue, and veteran receiver Gary Jennings was signed to the active squad.
