Following a 26-14 defeat against the Arizona Cardinals in Week 1, the Los Angeles Chargers addressed health issues across their receiving corps by adding veteran Marquez Valdes-Scantling to their practice squad on September 15. The team sought depth after rookie wideout Ladd McConkey suffered a rib injury during the season opener.
Valdes-Scantling had previously attended training camp with the Dallas Cowboys prior to joining the franchise.
The two-time Super Bowl champion previously played for the Kansas City Chiefs, whom the Chargers will encounter in Week 6. Over the course of his NFL career, Valdes-Scantling has accumulated 219 receptions, 3,686 receiving yards, and 21 touchdowns.
