Cardiff beat Charlton to record first win of the season

Cardiff City secured their opening Championship triumph of the campaign with a 3-1 home success over Charlton Athletic, ending a seven-fixture winless stretch. Jack Moylan broke the deadlock eight minutes in following interplay involving Chris Willock, Andy Robertson, and Yousef Salech, before turning provider in the 24th minute to set up Salech for his fifth goal this term.

Tyreece Campbell soon halved the arrears for sixth-placed Charlton by finishing Tyler Bindon's through ball past Nathan Trott, while Arthur Okonkwo denied further efforts from Willock and Salech prior to the interval.

After Karlan Grant struck the side-netting following an errant back pass early in the second period, Moylan sealed the result in the 61st minute by firing a powerful strike into the roof of the net after combining with Ollie Tanner.
