Abbotsford forward Braeden Cootes achieved a major milestone during his second official appearance in the American Hockey League, finding the back of the net for his initial professional goal at this level. The rookie struck late in the third period during a matchup against the Calgary Wranglers, though his squad ultimately dropped the contest with a final score of 4-2.
Cootes played alongside linemates Ben Berard and Bennett Schimek during the outing. The young prospect previously attended Vancouver's opening-night roster following his selection fifteen-overall in the 2025 draft, later spending time in the Western Hockey League with both the Seattle Thunderbirds and Prince Albert Raiders before returning to the organization's developmental affiliate.
