The Tampa Bay Buccaneers entered their Week 6 showdown against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a notable injury update, as several key players missed Wednesday’s practice session. Quarterback Baker Mayfield remains sidelined by a right thumb injury, now absent for two consecutive games, while safety Antoine Winfield Jr., running back Sean Tucker, and cornerback Ayden Garnes were held out due to rib, quad, and ankle issues, respectively.
Wide receiver Chris Godwin Jr. was also absent, though his absence was attributed to a scheduled rest day.
On the bright side, offensive tackle Tristan Wirfs and wide receiver David Sills V returned to full practice after recovering from knee and hamstring concerns, respectively. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh’s roster was also impacted, with defensive tackle Keeanu Benton, cornerback Jalen Ramsey, and receivers Roman Wilson and Ben Skowronek among those unable to participate due to ankle, wrist, finger, and calf injuries.
Both teams are expected to release updated reports ahead of Sunday’s game at Raymond James Stadium.
