Brock Purdy is on the verge of claiming the NFL record for highest career passer rating. He currently holds a 105.4 rating, which surpasses the 102.7 mark held by Lamar Jackson.
To officially qualify for this historical ranking, a player must reach a threshold of 1,500 career passing attempts. Purdy enters his upcoming game against the Commanders with 1,495 attempts, meaning he will secure the record after his fifth pass of the night.
Even if he were to throw five consecutive interceptions, his rating would remain high enough to overtake Jackson. While the passer rating metric has been criticized for its limitations and arbitrary nature since its 1973 introduction, it currently positions Purdy as the most efficient passer in league history.
