Blake Grupe on crutches, Rams likely need new kicker for Week 7

The Los Angeles Rams face a major setback at kicker with Blake Grupe exiting practice on crutches and in a knee brace after suffering an injury during a second-quarter tackle on kickoff coverage. The move, which reportedly saw Grupe saying goodbye to teammates as he left the locker room, raises serious doubts about his availability for the upcoming Week 7 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals.

Grupe’s injury compounds the Rams’ special teams struggles, as they’ve already dealt with inconsistency at the position after releasing Harrison Mevis earlier in the season. With Sean McVay’s team now searching for stability at kicker, Grupe’s status could force another change before a critical game—one the Rams can ill afford given their early-season challenges.
