Before reaching the NFL, Bijan Robinson developed his skills at Salpointe Catholic High School in Tucson, Arizona. Under the guidance of head coach Dennis Bene, Robinson transitioned from a junior varsity player to a varsity standout during his freshman year, eventually securing the starting running back position early in his sophomore season after a breakout 62-yard touchdown run.
He replaced incumbent starter Mario Padilla, who later transitioned to defensive back at the collegiate level. Throughout his tenure from 2016 to 2020, Robinson maintained a reputation for being highly coachable and possessing a quiet confidence that helped the Lancers remain a competitive program in the state.
