Sri Lanka has suffered a major setback ahead of their upcoming series in Pakistan, with both Wanindu Hasaranga and Pathum Nissanka missing from the upcoming three-match T20I fixture. Nissanka is sidelined due to a right-leg strain, while Hasaranga continues his recovery from a lower-back ailment, though both hope to be available for the subsequent ODI Tri-Series beginning October 18.
Kusal Mendis is set to captain the side and open the batting during the fixtures, with players such as Vijayakanth Viyaskanth, Sahan Arachchige, and Chamindu Wickramasinghe being evaluated to fill the gaps. The matches will be hosted entirely at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium between October 9 and 13.
