Anshul Kamboj departed the India A fixture against Australia A in Puducherry early after receiving a call-up to the senior national squad. The fast bowler was pulled from the playing eleven during the second unofficial Test to serve as a replacement for Prasidh Krishna.
Prasidh suffered a hamstring injury while bowling against the West Indies in Guwahati, managing only five overs before exiting the field. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has arranged for Prasidh to travel to Bengaluru for assessment at the Centre of Excellence.
With India leading the current series two-nil, Kamboj now joins the senior team ahead of the third fixture scheduled for Chandigarh. The twenty-five-year-old pacer had collected three wickets during the first innings against Australia A before exiting the match, where Praful Hinge took his place in the lineup.
His domestic resume includes one hundred thirteen first-class dismissals alongside prior stints in the Indian Premier League, positioning him to potentially feature in the upcoming match.
