Bihar has overhauled its leadership structure for the upcoming 2026-27 Ranji Trophy campaign, appointing Ashutosh Aman as head coach alongside assistant Ashok Kumar. The team will be led on the field by captain Sakibul Gani, supported by vice-captain Himanshu Singh, following a selection process overseen by BCCI officials Harvinder Singh, S Sharath, and Amitabh Vijayvargiya.
This administrative shift follows the appointment of Ashwani Kumar Singh as the state cricket administrator by the Supreme Court.
The 17-man roster includes IPL veteran Sakib Hussain and wicketkeepers Bipin Kumar Saurabh and Shraman Nigrodh, though notable talent Vaibhav Sooryavanshi was omitted for the opening rounds. Bihar begins its Elite Group schedule against Uttar Pradesh on October 11.
The squad also features Ayush Loharuka, Mangal Maharour, Naman Gaurav, Piyush Singh, Akash Raj, Prithvi Raj, Khalid Alam, Suraj Kumar Kashyap, Mohammad Izhar, Shabbir Khan, Raghavendra Singh, and Amod Yadav.
