Delhi’s batting duo delivered a commanding performance in their Ranji Trophy Elite Group C clash against Gujarat, setting a formidable total of 381 for 4 on the opening day. Priyansh Arya nearly achieved a double century, scoring 199 runs with 26 fours and six sixes, while captain Ayush Badoni anchored the innings with an unbeaten 115.
Their fourth-wicket partnership of 234 runs provided the backbone of Delhi’s total, with Badoni’s fifth first-class century proving decisive. Gujarat’s bowling attack struggled, with Harshal Patel managing just two wickets for 66 runs as Delhi took full advantage of a batting-friendly pitch in New Delhi.
Elsewhere in Group C, Bengal’s campaign faced an early setback after being bowled out for 186, while Services reached 83 for 5 at stumps. Spinners dominated proceedings, with Pradipta Pramanik and Aamir Gani sharing four wickets between them.
Meanwhile, Jharkhand was dismissed for 169 in another Group C match, highlighting the competitive nature of the tournament’s early stages.
