Arunachal Pradesh’s Ranji Trophy Plate Group campaign began in earnest after the team forfeited its scheduled opener against Nagaland at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The decision followed an unresolved administrative dispute within the state association, forcing the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to intervene and oversee player selections.
A three-member independent committee—chaired by former Assam cricketer Satya Gopal Chakraborty and including Jayanta Chowdhury and Deep Borah—was appointed to finalize the squad for the next three fixtures, with BCCI Apex Council member M. K.
Khairul Jamal Majumdar serving as convener of the process. The team, led by captain Neelam Obi and deputy Kamsha Yangfo, now faces Sikkim in Round 2 at Gokulbhai Somabhai Patel Stadium in Nadiad, marking their first official match of the tournament.
