Goa Cricket Association has unveiled their 16-player squad for the upcoming 2026-27 Ranji Trophy, with Abhinav Tejrana appointed as the team’s captain. The selection marks the omission of Arjun Tendulkar, the 27-year-old son of cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, despite his recent achievement of 50 first-class wickets for the state.
Tendulkar’s exclusion follows his absence during Goa’s tour of Oman earlier this year, with his last appearance for the team coming in the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy against Kerala. The squad will kick off their campaign in Elite Group A on October 11, 2026, facing Baroda at Panaji in the 92nd edition of the tournament, which runs until March 3, 2027.
The team’s coaching and management structure has also been confirmed, led by head coach Dinesh Mongia, with bowling coach Krishna Rao and senior cricket operations director Prakash Mayenkar supporting the squad. The Goa Cricket Association’s leadership, including president Mahesh Desai and secretary Tulshidas Shetye, has extended their backing to the team ahead of the season.
The squad’s composition reflects a blend of experience and emerging talent as Goa prepares for a challenging domestic campaign.
