Anvay Dravid flips the family script, Aryavir Sehwag starts at the top as India U19 beat carries famous echoes

Two decades after their fathers starred alongside each other for the national side, Anvay Dravid and Aryavir Sehwag shared an India U19 team sheet on Friday against Australia U19. The opening match of the three-fixture unofficial ODI series, played at Rajkot's Nianjan Shah Stadium, was trimmed to 20 overs per side due to weather, with the hosts posting a total of 182 for 6.

Aryavir marked his debut at the youth level by opening the innings, compiling 28 runs across 26 deliveries with five boundaries and joining captain Lakshya Rajesh Raichandandi for a 45-run starting stand. Coming in at number six, 17-year-old wicketkeeper-batter Anvay supplied late fireworks by clubbing two fours and three sixes to register 38 off just 18 balls.

His 69-run alliance with Yashbardhan Chauhan lasted only 34 deliveries, following up on his previous tour of Sri Lanka where he notched scores of 14 and an 87-run effort in Hambantota.
