Prince Yadav made history in India’s T20I series against the West Indies by becoming only the third Indian batter to score three boundaries while batting at No. 10 or No.
11 in a T20 International. His explosive 19th-over knock—featuring three fours off Shamar Joseph—came 15 years after Ravichandran Ashwin’s last such achievement in 2011 and 19 years after S Sreesanth’s record-setting effort in 2007.
Yadav’s aggressive strokeplay, including a scoop and a top-edge, helped India recover from a late collapse, adding 20 runs in the over and pushing the total to 223. The victory extended India’s series lead to 2-1, with bowlers Arshdeep Singh (3/44) and Naman Dhir (2/20) stifling the West Indies’ late rally, despite Shamar Springer’s fiery unbeaten 35 off 11 balls.
Earlier, Abhishek Sharma (69 off 30) and Ishan Kishan (37 off 18) had set a strong foundation before wickets began falling in the middle overs. The next clash, the fourth T20I, is scheduled for Hyderabad.
