Following a dominant series display in India, West Indies leader Shai Hope has earned high praise from former assistant coach Abhishek Nayar, who likened the batsman's current form to Matthew Hayden during Australia tours in the 2000s. Hope recorded an unbeaten century during the fourth fixture of the T20I contest, reaching a strike rate of 204 through fifty deliveries to secure a twenty-four run triumph and force a decisive final match.
Throughout the entire tour, the visiting skipper accumulated 278 runs in the ODI leg before continuing his success in the shorter format as the first West Indies cricketer to notch three T20I hundreds. Nayar noted that the captain successfully neutralized both high-speed deliveries from Mayank Yadav and the spin variations of Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel while also handling wicketkeeping and leadership duties.
