49ers work out former Jaguars wide receiver with Mike Evans banged up

San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan addressed health concerns on Monday regarding Mike Evans, who sustained a rib issue that team evaluations suggest will not require long-term recovery. Though missing Week 4 appears likely for Evans, the franchise examined prospective additions during workouts this week, bringing in recent draft product Brady Boyd alongside defensive back Sam Webb.

Boyd previously logged snaps with the Jacksonville Jaguars following an impressive athletic showcase during his university's pro day activities. Meanwhile, the organization assessed Webb to shore up defensive depth amid concussion protocols affecting cornerbacks Renardo Green and Deommodore Lenoir.
