3 winners, 8 losers from Lions’ loss to Bills
The Buffalo Bills defeated the Detroit Lions 41-31 during a Week 2 Thursday Night Football contest at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park. Quarterback Josh Allen powered the home side's high-scoring offensive output by producing five total touchdowns, overwhelming a Detroit defense that repeatedly yielded big gains on the ground.
Despite Jared Goff guiding the Lions' offense to 31 points and Deone Walker deflecting a pass in the second quarter, Detroit could not mount a serious challenge.
Discipline proved to be another critical undoing for the Lions, who committed 10 penalties over the course of the defeat. Following the outcome, Detroit head coach Dan Campbell expressed frustration that minor miscues and infractions undermined the team's ability to stay competitive.
