The Pittsburgh Steelers handed the Cincinnati Bengals a messy defeat on Sunday, evening both teams out with identical records of two wins and one loss. Head coach Zac Taylor struggled yet again to close out a contest when trailing past the third quarter, dropping his historical record in those situations to six wins and fifty-one losses.
Bengals miscues included a muffed punt by Ke'Shawn Williams and an unnecessary roughing penalty committed by Cedric Johnson, contributing to a total of six team penalties.
Cameron Heyward registered crucial sacks for Pittsburgh, while Jaylen Warren, Darnell Washington, and Roman Wilson carved up the Cincinnati defense with explosive gains of thirty or more yards. Although the Cincinnati offense showed strong moments through Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Tee Higgins, an offensive line breakdown ultimately derailed their final crucial opportunity.
The division race remains wide open now that the Bengals share the top spot in the AFC North alongside the Browns, Ravens, and Steelers.
