2026 mid-season College Football hot seat rankings: Could Lincoln Riley be next to go?

The ongoing college football season has already seen several coaching dismissals, beginning with Mike Locksley at Maryland, followed by Dave Doeren, Dave Aranda, and Phil Longo. Attention is now shifting toward remaining coaches under pressure as programs approach the final stretch of their schedules.

Florida State leader Mike Norvell faces severe scrutiny after his squad stumbled to a three-and-four start following previous struggles, though a steep buyout and school financial difficulties could complicate any firing decision. Meanwhile, USC counterpart Lincoln Riley is also fighting to retain his position as the Trojans continue to fall short of their high preseason playoff aspirations.
