Bangladesh skipper Litton Das pointed to unfamiliar conditions as the primary reason for his side's early batting struggles during their six-wicket semi-final loss to Pakistan at the Asian Games. The rain-reduced fixture in Nagoya saw Bangladesh restricted to 111-7 in thirteen overs after a dreadful start that left them three down for just twenty-one runs.
Pakistan successfully chased the target in 11.3 overs to secure victory. Das commended Towhid Hridoy for a resilient knock of 42 runs, though he acknowledged that defensive lapses in the middle overs and high bowling economy rates ultimately hurt their chances.
Bangladesh will next face Sri Lanka in the bronze medal playoff.
