‘Wasn’t the plan to break the record twice’ - Gulf Giants’ Simon Helmot on ILT20 Auction

During the recent ILT20 Season 5 Player Auction in Dubai, the Gulf Giants made headlines by twice breaking the league's record for the most expensive acquisition. Head Coach Simon Helmot admitted that eclipsing the previous high mark twice in a single evening was unintended, though he expressed immense satisfaction with securing star talents like Liam Livingstone and Rahmanullah Gurbaz.

In addition to securing those marquee players, the franchise brought in several other international standouts including Alzarri Joseph and David Wiese to balance their explosive top order with reliable bowling options.
