‘Rage Bait,’ ‘Lunacy’ — Fans Torch CFB Analyst for Calling 2013 Florida State ‘One of the Worst Teams to Win a National Championship’

College football analyst RJ Young sparked significant backlash after labeling the undefeated 2013 Florida State squad as one of the least impressive teams to ever secure a national title. During a recent podcast appearance, Young suggested his critique was partially influenced by his personal feelings toward former head coach Jimbo Fisher.

The 2013 Seminoles finished with a perfect 14-0 record, featured Heisman Trophy recipient Jameis Winston at quarterback, and defeated Auburn 34-31 in the final BCS National Championship Game. Critics of Young's assessment pointed to the team's historic scoring records and the fact that every one of their 22 starters eventually reached the NFL.
