As the Minnesota Lynx face an uncertain offseason following their early postseason exit against the New York Liberty, reports have surfaced regarding forward Napheesa Collier. According to basketball insider Martin Soaries on a recent podcast episode, a reliable source indicated that the five-time WNBA All-Star holds an interest in relocating her career to New York City.
Collier, who has spent her professional career with the Minnesota franchise since being selected sixth overall in the 2019 WNBA Draft, is approaching unrestricted free agency as her current contract concludes. During her exit interview following the team's first-round playoff elimination, the veteran player noted she had not yet focused on her upcoming free agency status while expressing her affection for the organization and her teammates.
Having managed only 16 regular-season games this year due to rehabilitation from successive ankle procedures, Collier averaged 16.8 points, 6.9 rebounds, 2.6 assists, and 1.3 steals per contest.
