Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair faces potential discipline from the league after repeatedly using his eye black to display unauthorized personal text during the opening weeks of the season. According to reports, the athlete wrote the name of an eight-year-old Palestinian girl who died in a recent airstrike on his face during a game, following a similar incident in the season opener.
Officials warned the player that displaying such personal messages breaches uniform regulations and could result in him being barred from participating.
The defender previously received a financial penalty from the organization for a comparable infraction during a postseason matchup last year when he wrote a phrase referencing the genocide. While athletes are permitted to spotlight approved nonprofit causes through designated league initiatives, the association prohibits unapproved personal statements on equipment during standard competition.
