NFL's first 70-yard field goal almost happens: Jaguars' Cam Little barely misses on historic attempt

Jacksonville placekicker Cam Little came remarkably close to establishing a new league scoring benchmark during a recent game against New England. With a mere three seconds remaining before halftime, head coach Liam Coen opted to send his specialist out for a massive try rather than call for a desperation pass from quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

The attempt ultimately drifted wide by a tiny margin, denying the specialist a chance to add to his prior distance records set the previous autumn. This rare deep-range try represents only the ninth instance in league history that a specialist has attempted a field goal from seventy yards or beyond.
