SunRidge Canyon Golf Club in Fountain Hills, Arizona, has emerged refreshed after a decade-long transformation under new ownership. Don Misheff and his family acquired the course 16 years ago and have since dedicated the past ten years to refining its design, particularly the final six holes, known as the 'Wicked Six,' which offer a challenging yet rewarding finish.
Recent upgrades include resurfacing greens on holes 3, 5, and 18, removing select bunkers to improve playability, and adding new tee boxes on holes 2 and 14 for better sightlines. The clubhouse has also been revitalized with a show kitchen, outdoor dining, and live music four nights a week, though wedding events will no longer be hosted there.
The 6,823-yard, par-71 layout, originally designed by Keith Foster in 1995, reopened on October 1 following its annual overseed and summer renovations, continuing its reputation as a premier public-access course near Scottsdale.
Beyond course improvements, SunRidge Canyon has expanded its amenities with the addition of CoolClubs, a 3,500-square-foot driving range featuring TrackMan launch monitors, club fitting, and a putting lab. Misheff emphasized the role of the staff in maintaining the club’s success, highlighting their commitment to guest service as a cornerstone of the experience.
The ongoing enhancements reflect the club’s philosophy of continuous improvement, ensuring it remains a standout destination for golfers seeking both scenic beauty and technical challenge.
