Giants quarterback trade rumors: New York has made calls this week with a move possibly imminent

Following season-ending knee surgery for Jaxson Dart, the New York Giants have begun exploring options to add depth at the quarterback position. Jameis Winston will take the starting assignment for the upcoming contest against the Tennessee Titans, while Jake Haener is expected to be promoted from the practice squad.

Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy previously designed the playbook around Dart's rushing ability, diverging from Winston's pocket-passing profile. Consequently, the coaching staff may seek an acquisition whose running capabilities align closer to their original scheme.

J.J. McCarthy was also mentioned as a potential trade target.
