Sunil Gavaskar criticized excuses regarding playing surfaces following India's twenty-four run defeat to the West Indies in their fourth twenty-over international encounter. The tourists posted a total of two hundred forty-seven runs before restricting their opponents to two hundred twenty-three, bringing the series score to two-all ahead of the final fixture.
Gavaskar argued that poor bowling execution, specifically delivering waist-high full tosses, was the true cause of the setback rather than any pitch deficiencies.
Indian skipper Shreyas Iyer shared a similar perspective during his post-match assessment, admitting that his bowling attack failed to maintain proper lines and lengths while defending a massive target. Both analysts agreed that visiting bowlers encountered identical execution difficulties during the second innings before adjusting their lengths to secure crucial dismissals.
The deciding contest was set to take place at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
