D.J. Moore injury: Bills wideout ruled out after injuring shoulder vs. Lions

Buffalo Bills receiver DJ Moore was knocked out of Thursday night's home opener against Detroit following a heavy landing on his shoulder at the back of the Lions' end zone in the second quarter. The twenty-nine-year-old was subsequently ruled out after heading into the locker room for X-rays to assess both a shoulder injury and a stinger, ending his night without a reception.

Despite losing Moore, the Bills dominated the opening half, finding the end zone on their initial four drives to build a 27-10 advantage by halftime.

The setback comes immediately after Moore made an impressive franchise debut in Houston, hauling in five passes for 100 yards to help secure a 36-31 triumph over the Texans. Buffalo acquired the veteran wideout in an offseason trade with Chicago, where he established career bests of 1,364 receiving yards and eight touchdowns during the 2023 campaign.

Prior to his stint with the Bears, which followed a trade ahead of the 2023 season, Moore spent his first five years in the league with Carolina, compiling four distinct seasons of at least 1,100 yards through the air between 2019 and 2023.
