Yuvraj Singh is set to make his formal coaching debut with the Delhi Capitals, joining the franchise as assistant and batting coach for the upcoming 2027 Indian Premier League season. The 44-year-old cricket legend, known for his explosive batting and all-round skills, brings a wealth of international experience, including 304 ODIs, 58 T20Is, and 40 Tests, along with two World Cup titles.
His mentorship has already shaped the careers of rising stars like Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma, and Prabhsimran Singh, adding depth to his new role. This appointment also marks a full-circle return for Yuvraj, who was once the most expensive player in IPL history when Delhi Daredevils acquired him for ₹16 crore in 2015, playing all 14 matches that season before retiring from active play.
He expressed excitement about reuniting with former India captain Sourav Ganguly, now his colleague in the coaching staff, and contributing to the team’s success in the high-pressure tournament.
