Yankees vs Rays: LIVE MLB playoffs Wild Card Game

The Yankees and Tampa Bay Rays are locked in a high-stakes Wild Card showdown as the MLB postseason heats up, with the winner securing a spot in the American League Championship Series. The game is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, with first pitch at 8 p.m.

ET on TBS and available to stream via Peacock. Both teams are making strategic lineup adjustments ahead of the matchup, aiming to gain an edge in this pivotal contest.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone has made notable changes, inserting Anthony Volpe at second base and Jose Caballero at third while benching Jazz Chisholm, looking to spark offense with fresh contributions from Trent Grisham leading off and Caballero batting ninth. Meanwhile, Rays manager Kevin Cash has adjusted his lineup to counter Yankees pitcher Gerrit Fried, who has struggled against the Rays in past matchups, with Chandler Simpson potentially returning to action in Game 3 if needed.
