Wisden’s current World Test XI

Wisden analysts have curated a composite Test team reflecting player output since September 2024. The lineup features Travis Head and Tom Latham as openers, with Shubman Gill, Steve Smith, and Joe Root anchoring the middle order.

Rishabh Pant serves as the wicketkeeper, while Ravindra Jadeja provides all-round utility. Mitchell Starc leads the bowling attack as the most prolific wicket-taker of the period.

Head accumulated 1,489 runs at a strike rate of 83.04, while Latham secured his spot with 1,032 runs. Gill recorded 1,551 runs, Smith maintained a 48.46 average, and Root tallied 1,901 runs.

Pant contributed 1,454 runs, and Jadeja added 1,124 runs alongside 62 wickets. Starc claimed 87 wickets at an average of 19.47.
