The Arizona Cardinals made a bold move by trading Marvin Harrison Jr. to the Houston Texans, securing a 2027 second-round pick in return.
The deal reflects the Cardinals' strategy to rebuild their roster while capitalizing on the Texans' need for immediate receiving help. Harrison, a former Ohio State standout selected fourth overall in 2022, struggled to replicate his college success in Arizona, posting just 1,263 yards and 14 touchdowns over two seasons.
His chemistry with former Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud—who threw three touchdown passes to him in the 2022 Rose Bowl—could now pay off in Houston, where the receiving corps is severely depleted by injuries to Tank Dell and Jayden Higgins.
League insiders had previously questioned whether Harrison was worth a second-round pick, but the Cardinals leveraged the Texans' desperation to secure a valuable asset for future draft planning. Meanwhile, former Ohio State teammate Garrett Wilson expressed excitement for Harrison’s new opportunity, calling it a positive development for the young receiver’s career trajectory.
