Wilson & Curtis leave Scotland squad to join U-21s

James Wilson and Findlay Curtis departed from the senior Scotland camp during their training camp in Spain. The pair of forwards will instead travel to feature for the Under-21 squad in their upcoming fixture against Azerbaijan on Wednesday.

This switch means both players will be unavailable for the upcoming Nations League fixtures versus Slovenia away and Switzerland at home. Depending on subsequent selections, the two athletes could rejoin the senior group for fixtures against North Macedonia and Slovenia in October.

Wilson currently plays his club football as a striker for Hearts, while Curtis serves as a winger for Rangers. Both teenagers already hold notable age-group and senior records for their country, with Wilson having debuted against Greece and Curtis having featured at the World Cup in the United States this past summer.
