The Atlanta Falcons have named Michael Penix Jr. as their starting quarterback for their upcoming Thursday Night Football matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
Penix will make his return from the knee injury that sidelined him last season. Meanwhile, teammate Tua Tagovailoa has returned to practice and is expected to serve as the backup quarterback for the Week 3 contest.
The franchise enters the game looking to reverse a sluggish 0-2 start to the season that included struggles inside the red zone.
