What BYU QB Bear Bachmeier must do for Cougars to upset No. 2 Notre Dame

BYU’s sophomore quarterback **Bear Bachmeier** faces his biggest test yet as the Cougars (5-0) look to upset the undefeated No. 2 Notre Dame Fighting Irish (6-0) in a primetime showdown this Saturday.

The matchup pits two top-10 teams in a clash with major playoff implications, as Notre Dame’s dominant 58-7 win over Stanford and BYU’s 24-10 victory over their last opponent set the stage for a defensive battle. Bachmeier, who transferred from Stanford to join BYU’s quarterback pipeline, will need to outmaneuver Notre Dame’s top-ranked defense to keep the Cougars’ undefeated season alive.

The game carries extra weight for BYU, which has long sought a high-profile win against the Fighting Irish after missing out on a previous opportunity in a bowl game.
