The Patriots held their first practice since Wednesday, and star wide receiver A.J. Brown was on the field for the first time in five weeks after a high‑ankle sprain suffered in the season opener against Seattle.
Coach Mike Vrabel said the team will evaluate Brown over the next few days and has a 21‑day window to decide whether to activate him for the upcoming game against the New York Jets, after which he would revert to injured reserve if not.
Brown’s return comes as New England’s offense has been hit by multiple injuries, including wideout Mack Hollins, fullback Reggie Gilliam, guard Mike Onwenu and his replacement Greg Van Roten, as well as ongoing concerns for tight end Eli Raridon, tackle Will Campbell and running back TreVeyon Henderson. The practice also featured the comebacks of offensive tackle Marcus Bryant, cornerback Christian Gonzalez and limited participation from Campbell and Henderson, signaling a broader push to replenish a depleted roster.
