Cricket West Indies has named a 15-player squad for their two-match Test series against Bangladesh, starting October 14, which will serve as their final fixtures in the current ICC World Test Championship cycle. The selection includes a notable debut for 23-year-old Kevin Wickham, who has impressed with three consecutive centuries in the West Indies Championship, finishing as the competition’s third-highest run-scorer with 393 runs at an average of 78.60.
His strong domestic form—including six first-class hundreds in 25 matches—has earned him a spot in the Test team for the first time.
The squad also reflects strategic adjustments, with fast bowler Alzarri Joseph omitted due to fitness concerns and workload management ahead of the physically demanding Test series. Shai Hope has been rested to prioritize his workload and recovery ahead of the 2027 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, while John Campbell returns after a hamstring injury and Keemo Paul is included as Joseph’s replacement.
Wickham’s call-up and the team’s tactical shifts set the stage for a competitive series in a crucial WTC window.
