The Los Angeles Lakers opened their preseason campaign with a strong start before ultimately falling to the Golden State Warriors, 101-89. Walker Kessler made his debut for the Lakers, contributing immediately with a layup and defensive impact, while also finishing the first half with 11 points and nine rebounds.
The Lakers built a commanding 20-point lead early, fueled by a dominant first half where they shot 56% from the field and controlled the paint. Austin Reaves led the charge with 23 points and six assists, while Quentin Grimes and Jake LaRavia also chipped in with key three-pointers.
However, a sharp drop-off in bench production—including 30 turnovers—allowed the Warriors to mount a late rally, capitalizing on Golden State’s efficient execution in the second half.
