Verstappen to start at back of grid with power unit penalty in Brazil | Formula 1

Max Verstappen faces an uphill battle at the upcoming Formula 1 race after picking up a grid penalty for an engine swap. The Red Bull driver will take a fresh power unit for the weekend, exceeding his permitted yearly quota and forcing him to start from the very back of the pack.

Red Bull team boss Laurent Mekies acknowledged the challenge while pointing out that his driver has successfully navigated similar deficits in the past, including charging from seventeenth to victory during the previous year's event and recovering to second place after starting nineteenth two years ago.
