The Turkish Football Federation (TFF) has imposed a 45-day ban on 147 club officials, including Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan, for violating betting regulations. The suspensions follow an investigation launched in September, which initially flagged 448 individuals—including officials, players, and referees—for alleged betting activity while in office.
Of those, 301 cases lacked sufficient evidence for disciplinary action, while the remaining 147 were found to have breached rules set by the TFF, FIFA, and UEFA, which prohibit such conduct for anyone involved in football administration, coaching, or officiating. The banned officials had held positions at clubs in Turkey’s top two divisions over the past five years, marking the latest crackdown by Turkish authorities on betting-related misconduct in the sport.
Earlier this year, a separate TFF probe resulted in bans for 149 referees and 1,204 players, underscoring the federation’s intensified efforts to clean up the game’s integrity.
