Tottenham grab a draw but who got 1/10 - Ratings for Man Utd v Spurs

Manchester United’s shaky start at Old Trafford saw Tottenham Hotspur snatch a hard-earned 1-1 draw in a match where neither side could find consistent rhythm. United’s defense, anchored by Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martínez, struggled early, with Martínez completely outmuscled by Dominic Solanke for Spurs’ equalizer.

Goalkeeper Senne Lammens made a costly early error but recovered to deny Solanke before a series of nervy mistakes summed up United’s first half. Bruno Fernandes, a shadow of his award-winning self last season, failed to capitalize on chances, while Matheus Cunha’s lack of impact mirrored broader defensive frailties.

Substitutes like Diogo Dalot and Joshua Zirkzee injected late energy, but United’s midfield, led by Youri Tielemans and Kobbie Mainoo, lacked cohesion, with Tielemans escaping a dubious free-kick decision and Mainoo frequently caught out in possession. Tottenham’s defense, though solid in parts, saw Jan Paul van Hecke nearly exposed by a United corner, while Antonin Kinsky’s late save denied Amad Diallo a goal.

Bryan Mbeumo’s strike restored United’s lead, but the match ultimately reflected a lack of attacking threat from both sides, leaving fans with a frustrating stalemate.
