Titans CEO says owner is 'feeling a lot of grief' about team's abysmal start

The Tennessee Titans’ dismal 2026 season has prompted a rare public acknowledgment from team leadership, as CEO Burke Nihill addressed the franchise’s 0-5 start—the worst opening stretch since 2009—and a winless streak stretching back to the final game of 2025. Under first-year head coach Robert Saleh, the Titans have failed to secure a victory, deepening frustration among fans already weary of front-office turnover and a franchise mired in underperformance.

Nihill’s apology, delivered amid growing backlash toward owner Amy Adams Strunk, marks an unusual step for NFL leadership, though it falls short of resolving systemic issues plaguing the organization. The team’s struggles extend beyond this season, with a 6-33 record over the last 39 games, underscoring a broader pattern of instability and missed expectations despite recent coaching and personnel changes.
