The Texas Longhorns are hoping to erase the sting of their 27-24 loss to Oklahoma by avoiding further setbacks ahead of Saturday’s home showdown with Florida. With only offensive lineman Jaydon Chatman currently sidelined, the team’s injury situation appears far more stable than initially feared.
Cornerback Bo Mascoe, who missed Monday’s practice due to a minor injury, was not listed on the injury report, meaning he should be available for Saturday’s 11 a.m. CT kickoff against the Gators.
Mascoe has already proven his value this season, intercepting passes and disrupting plays, including forcing two incompletions on third-down drives against Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith—one of which sealed a fourth-quarter stop at the goal line. With Florida quarterback Aaron Philo’s status still uncertain due to a shoulder injury, Texas cannot afford to lose another key defender, especially after the defensive line’s recent struggles.
