Experienced batter Suryakumar Yadav has ended a long-standing association with Parsee Gymkhana to join MIG Cricket Club for local fixtures in Mumbai. Following his omission from the Mumbai squad for the upcoming red-ball championship, the prominent player has accepted a leadership role with his new club and is slated to debut during an MCA President's Cup fixture.
Club secretary Amit Dani confirmed that the veteran will captain the side this season, though he will sit out their opening weekend fixture against Sainath Cricket Club to focus on multi-day match preparations. The transition arrives during a demanding period for the athlete, who previously captained the national team to a global tournament victory.
