Struijk has red card shown after VAR intervention overturned

Brighton defender Pascal Struijk saw his dismissal successfully challenged after a controversial sending-off during a recent fixture. The player had originally been ordered off the pitch following a challenge on opposing attacker Wilson Isidor just before the hour mark.

Match referee Thomas Bramall initially missed the infringement, but video assistant referee Neil Davies stepped in to prompt an on-field review. Upon checking the pitchside monitor, the official judged the play as stopping a clear scoring chance and brandished a red card.

Following a successful appeal against the wrongful dismissal, that penalty has now been wiped out.
