Stephen A Smith blasts WNBA for Dream arena situation

Stephen A. Smith criticized the WNBA after the Atlanta Dream were forced to shift Games 3 and 4 of the Finals from State Farm Arena to the smaller Gateway Center Arena because the Atlanta Hawks’ NBA schedule conflicted with the original dates.

The league and the Hawks later negotiated a deal that allowed the Dream to return to State Farm Arena for those games, a move Smith called a “dereliction of duty.”

The Dream, making their first Finals appearance since 2013 and their fourth overall, earned the series by beating the Washington Mystics in the opening round and then sweeping the New York Liberty in the semifinals. Starting in the 2027 season, the franchise will move all home games permanently to State Farm Arena.
