Steelers put Roman Wilson on injured reserve

The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed wide receiver Roman Wilson on injured reserve, sidelining him for at least four games due to a finger injury that forced his absence from Sunday’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Wilson, who has recorded 14 receptions for 188 yards and two touchdowns this season, joins Michael Pittman Jr.

on the IR list, while offensive lineman Ben Skowronek was also ruled out for the week. To address the roster gaps, the Steelers promoted practice-squad wideouts Brandon Smith and Brandon Johnson for Sunday’s game before they revert to their original status.

Additionally, running back Lew Nichols was signed off the practice squad to occupy Wilson’s roster spot, further reshuffling the team’s depth chart.
